Erica Wortham is a Visiting Scholar at the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from New York University in 2002. Ms. Wortham has worked as a media programmer for the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution, and taught courses in the Anthropology department at UC San Diego. Her area of expertise lies in the fields of culture and media, indigenous-state relations, with a special interest in indigenous media in Mexico and Latin America. Erica’s current project is a book manuscript titled «Making Culture Visible: Indigenous Media in Mexico» that revisits the initiatives of her dissertation written during her previous fellowship at the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies.
