Please join us for an enlightening evening as USMEX Visiting Fellow and Assistant Professor of Chicana/o Studies at UCLA, Dr. Maylei Blackwell joins us and shares her latest book, ¡Chicana Power! Contested Histories of Feminism in the Chicano Movement (Chicano Matters). The first book-length study of women’s involvement in the Chicano Movement of the late 1960s and 1970s. Special guest Anna Nieto Gomez, one of the Chicana activists featured in Dr. Blackwell’s book, will also be present to meet students and answer questions.
