Wine reception at the conclusion of the presentations

Camillo Magoni has lived and produced wine in the Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California for 40 years. His work and love of the land has been captured in a recently published book entitled The History of the Vine and of Wine in the Baja California Peninsula. This work has earned Magoni recognition for its depth, and the title of “historian by vocation.” During this event we will meet the author and learn about the history of making wine in Baja California (dating to the first Jesuit missionaries), as well as viewing the exquisite photographs taken by Julio Rodríguez to illustrate the book, which also contains archival photos. Proceeds from the sale of photographs will benefit the Iberoamerican University Foundation.

This event is a collaboration between the Mexican Consulate General, San Diego; the Mexican Cultural Institute, San Diego; and the Institute of the Americas.
