Exploring Faith and Belonging in the Migrant Experience
April 15-16, 2009
At the Joan B. Kroc Theatre, University of San Diego
5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110
The Trans-Border Institute at the University of San Diego, with support from the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, will host a major international conference to examine the relationship between migration, religion and national identity. From the decision to leave one’s home country to the reactions of receiving communities, religion has long been a significant factor in the relocation and integration of migrant peoples around the globe. This conference will examine these topics from a historical and comparative perspective, and will feature accomplished academic and religious experts from the United States and abroad.
