The objectives of this event are: – To acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the past thirty years since the return to democracy in Latin America – To assess the empirical results of this period by focusing on four principal types of change: 
 This event is based on research sponsored by CLACSO and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) through a program of Twelve Research Fellowships supporting Fellows from Latin American countries to write papers on the above subjects. Program
